The latest photographed captured for this series was when I was on the Venice Beach Pier watching the surfers on a bright sunny day. The surfers were all in wet suits. After about half an hour, a surfer appeared in her bikini, immediately catching a wave. I shot it with heated film, cross-processed it in development, resulting in the hot pink & the reds are courtesy of the Holga’s light leaks. I did say “hot damn” out loud when I saw the result. This photograph was created by shooting Fuji Velvia 100 slide film and processing it with negative film chemistry. The film was intentionally heated hopefully adding to the dramatic hues. Many light leaks are present due to the camera being exposed to the sun for long periods of time.

• Prints are created using archival pigment inks on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper 308 gsm fine art photo paper.

• Limited editions are signed and numbered by Ashley en verso (on the back).

• 10x10, 20x20, 30x30 are editions of 20

• Frames are custom made white wood with a white acid-free window mat and either conservation glass or UV protectant, non-abrasive, non-glare plexiglass depending on the size.
